Touring: Currency Exchange
There are Bureau de Change offices in every corner of the globe. The term is French and literally translated means the 'office of exchange'. All major currencies can be ordered in and exchanged in these establishments, except of course, those countries such as Vietnam and Korea who ban the export and import of their currency. Conversion of currency is always fluctuating dependant on the world currency markets and the rate of exchange changes daily.

Bureau de Change offices charge commission rates to exchange currency in order to make a profit. A typical rate of commission would be 2% of the total transaction. Exchanges further make more money by buying in currency cheaper than they sell it on to the consumer. Notes are a common form of exchange, however many travellers choose to buy travellers cheques as these are 'insured'. They can be purchased at a current rate of exchange and then exchanged for cash in a foreign exchange at the final destination. If they are lost or stolen, they can usually be replaced.
